Enough is enough

Are you not entertained? Did you have fun last night waiting to see if Donald Trump was going to drop a nuclear bomb or if he was just going to commit some massively damaging war crimes in Iran? It is time for this to end. It is time for Donald Trump to be forced into retirement.

It would appear many Democrats agree with me, as 85 Democratic members of Congress are saying that Trump should be removed from office at the time of writing.

Trump posted yesterday morning that a "whole civilization will die tonight" in Iran. This is genocidal rhetoric. He walked back that threat by the evening, but that changes nothing about the fact that this man should not be allowed to continue threatening the lives of millions and destabilizing the world.

The whole planet should not have to contend with the whims of one degrading psychopath any longer. Of course, Trump should never have been elected in the first place, but we are where we are, and there's a relatively simple solution to this problem. He must be impeached and removed, and then we can discuss whether he should be imprisoned for the remainder of his life. I certainly won't be arguing against that.

This man has been visibly declining in recent years, and he was mentally and temperamentally unfit for a position of such great power before that became apparent. His actions during the COVID-19 pandemic were linked to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in his first term. His death count is already higher in this term. There is only one sane path forward.

We cannot just keep becoming outraged when something terrible happens and then eventually move on. This is not a sustainable approach for our country or for the rest of the world. The only reasonable plan of action at this point is to make Donald Trump a private citizen again.
