I'm tired of being governed by losers
From the White House to Silicon Valley, the lamest people on the planet are holding onto the reins of power.
In about a month, we will hit one year since Trump took office, and it's been an exhausting year. Even Trump is tired, as he keeps falling asleep in meetings. We all knew it would be bad, but something I can't get out of my head lately is how pathetic these people are.
The people with the most power in the United States today are intellectually vacant, petty, cruel, short-sighted, delusional and socially inept. This is an embarrassing group of people. Whether we're talking about the folks in the White House or the Silicon Valley bros who rub shoulders with Trump, these are not people you would choose to socialize with or even tolerate in a social setting. They are contemptible losers.
I don't have to tell you why Trump is a loser. He's an impulsive, racist man-child. He appears to be in decline, and he's forcing the whole country to suffer through that process. Trump 2.0 has shown itself to be a worse, more dangerous version of Trump 1.0.
There's our secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth. This man has probably been banned from numerous bars. He's got the vibe of a guy you wouldn't trust around your drink. You can imagine him asking you if you wanted to start a fight club. He's dim-witted and appears to suffer from anger issues.

Some people Trump has elevated, like Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller or Vice President JD Vance, seem to be even more committed to white nationalism than Trump is. They're visibly repugnant and furious at the world. These were the guys sitting alone at lunch in high school, and they haven't forgotten about it.
You would think having a Kennedy in the administration might bring some normalcy to the situation, but Trump managed to find a Kennedy who looks and acts like he was resurrected weeks after perishing. He's a freak, and everyone can see that.
Outside of the administration, but clearly tied to it, there are tech industry figures like Elon Musk. Again, what's wrong here is rather self-evident. He's a bizarre narcissist who seems to become more openly extreme with each passing day. The man resembles certain business leaders we saw in Germany in the 1930s.
Mark Zuckerberg has also aligned himself with the Trump administration. His imitation of a normal person has grown tiring over the years. He seems to semi-regularly select a new personality from a touchscreen menu and see if people will buy it. He's weak and without a moral compass.
Jeff Bezos, who used to come off as a pretty normal nerd, now has the air of a sleazy Miami nightclub manager. He went from being a relatively hands-off owner of the Washington Post to forcing it to produce articles that are more aligned with this administration's interests, and the newspaper is now a shadow of its former self.
It's just depressing to realize that these are the people with their hands on the levers of power in this country. Out of 340 million people, this is the best we could do? This is who's taking America into its next chapter? You'd avoid these people on the subway. Obviously, we could do much better, but somehow this is where we've ended up.
I don't have a fully formed theory as to why these people are the ones in charge, but I can't help but think it's the result of a populace that grew accustomed to reality TV behavior, lost interest in educating itself and started placing the pursuit of money above everything else. Essentially, I think rampant, unrestrained capitalism and shallow thinking broke America. We should probably do something about that.
