The mass shooter regime
An ICE agent killed a woman, and it's emblematic of an administration that celebrates violence.
Two months ago, I compared the people who make up the Trump administration to mass shooters. I wrote that this is their psychological profile. Now, one of their militants has taken a life. On Wednesday, an ICE agent shot and killed 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good while she was trying to drive away from them in Minneapolis.
ICE is the paramilitary force of this regime, and it was only a matter of time before one of these deranged faux soldiers killed someone. That doesn't make sitting with it any easier. To no one's surprise, members of the administration quickly started lying about what had happened. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem went as far as to compare the victim to a domestic terrorist.
This is an administration that celebrates violence, and so do its supporters. Many MAGA figures on Twitter made jokes about the killing. It is an administration that sees its perceived political enemies as subhuman and evil. They will not be shedding any tears for Renee Nicole Good, while many of us have, and they will do everything they can to protect the man who ended her life. Accountability is unacceptable because accountability can spread.
As I wrote in my piece in November, we're dealing with a regime that embodies the mentality of the mass shooter. They are violent, tech-poisoned, aberrant, immature, racist—all of the things you think of when you imagine that kind of person. This means they're vindictive, and that's why they were in Minnesota. The right-wing media was obsessed with the Somali immigrants who live there, so the administration sent ICE in. It's all a show until it's not.
We've known for some time that Donald Trump has been itching for some violence in the streets. It is clear that's why he's been sending ICE and the National Guard into various American cities. It's as if he's been testing out one city at a time to see where bloodshed might be most likely to occur. It didn't happen in Portland or Los Angeles? Alright, let's try Chicago. Try New Orleans. Try Minneapolis.
Trump wants to see violence, because violence means he can escalate, and to him, that means he can grab more power. He dreams of ruling over a police state, and he's been working hard to get us there. He wants us afraid, and he wants us compliant.
Of course, all of this is happening while Trump shows off how violent he can be beyond our borders. He kidnapped the president of Venezuela. He's threatened Greenland, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba and any other country he can think of. It's all part of the same pathology that we're being subjected to.

So what now? Well, for the average joe, I'd say get organized and march in the streets. When it comes to Democrats in Congress, I hope we see a real effort to impeach Kristi Noem, which appears to already be on the table. It won't succeed, but it's worth trying. Whatever form it takes, Democrats need to get loud and help the public understand how serious the situation we are in has become.
I hope the authorities in Minnesota will be able to prosecute the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good, but I've spent too long watching these kinds of people escape justice to get my hopes up. Unfortunately, if they are not prosecuted, I fear we may see more incidents like this one.
If ICE agents know they can kill, and the administration will defend them and protect them from prosecution, then it's quite possible it'll happen again. They surely suspected that they wouldn't face any consequences no matter what they did, but this would confirm those suspicions.
One thing I can say with confidence is that the people are sick and tired of what's happening. The polls have consistently shown in recent months that what ICE is doing is not popular, and we've seen everyday Americans stand up and resist ICE when they attempt to terrorize our neighborhoods. It appears that's what Renee Nicole Good was trying to do, and we have to keep standing up to these people in her honor.
